Domain Privacy & Proxy Services

OrangeHost offers a WHOIS Privacy / Proxy service that allows you to limit the public display of your personal contact information in the Registration Data Directory Service (RDDS/WHOIS/RDAP). This service is provided by our affiliated service provider, identified below. This page sets out the terms, pricing, points of contact, and procedures applicable to the service.

2. What the Service Does

When you subscribe to the Privacy / Proxy service, alternative contact information provided by Domain Privacy Ltd is displayed in the public RDDS/WHOIS in place of some or all of your own contact information, in accordance with applicable ICANN policy. Your underlying registration remains associated with you as the beneficial registrant.

3. Pricing

The Privacy / Proxy service is offered at USD $5 per domain name. Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase and is subject to change on notice. Fees for the service are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

4. Reporting Abuse or Trademark / Intellectual Property Infringement

To report abuse of a domain name using this service, or to report infringement of a trademark or other rights, contact Domain Privacy Ltd at [email protected]. You may also contact OrangeHost at [email protected]. Reports should include the domain name(s) involved, a description of the issue, and supporting evidence.

5. Procedures

5.1 Relay of Communications

Domain Privacy Ltd may forward (relay) communications received at the published contact addresses to you, the customer of the service, so that you may respond. Certain communications, such as legal notices and abuse complaints, may be relayed and/or acted upon as described below.

5.2 Disclosure or Publication of Your Identity

Domain Privacy Ltd may reveal your identity and/or contact data, and/or publish that data in the RDDS, in circumstances including: where required by applicable law, court order, or a request from a governmental, administrative, or law-enforcement authority of competent jurisdiction; in response to a valid claim of abuse, fraud, or infringement of intellectual property or other rights; to comply with ICANN requirements or registry policies; or where you have breached the terms of the service.

5.3 Termination of Service

Domain Privacy Ltd may terminate or suspend the Privacy / Proxy service in circumstances including: your breach of the service terms or of the Domain Registration Agreement; use of the protected domain name for unlawful or abusive activity; non-payment of applicable fees; or where required to comply with applicable law, ICANN requirements, or registry policies. Upon termination of the service, your own contact information may be published in the RDDS.

6. Escrow of Customer Information

The contact information of customers of the Privacy / Proxy service is included in the registration data escrow deposits maintained in connection with OrangeHost’s ICANN accreditation. Such escrowed information may be accessed by ICANN only in the event of the termination of the applicable registrar agreement or in the event the registrar ceases business operations.

7. Service Agreement

Use of the Privacy / Proxy service is subject to the service agreement of Domain Privacy Ltd, which is made available to you when you subscribe. This page should be read together with your Domain Registration Agreement and our Privacy Policy.
